Phoenix Contact has been developing surge protective devices since 1983. The company is characterized by its many years of expertise in this field. The company's own, worldwide most powerful and accredited lightning and high current laboratory forms the basis for precise test procedures and application-oriented research. The offer of ELKO-BIS constitutes the full lightning arrester equipment with accessories, enabling the choice of elements for each building facility: industrial, housing, historical and sacred, commercial and service, office, public utility, or sports facility.

The product range is split into product groups: clamping fixtures, terminals, connections, supports and earth electrodes, lightning arrester masts, products with a plastic terminal and accessories. Listed among the most popular products are: cross connections, concrete supports, a housing for control connections, free-standing lightning arrester masts, earth pins, lightning arrester wire, band iron as well as accessories and tools, e.g., technical petroleum jelly and a straightening machine.

J. Pröpster GmbH develops, produces and distributes a complete and tested product range of lightning protection components. The product range of around 2000 standard components is supplemented by numerous customised special designs. 
As a strong full-range supplier, J. Pröpster GmbH makes it possible to obtain surge protection, lightning protection and earthing materials from a single source. The use of innovative and easy-to-install components guarantees cost-effective and practical installation. Simple sales channels, certified quality management and a service-orientated partnership with the customers are key elements of the company's philosophy.
The family-operated company, headquartered in Neumarkt/OPf. in Germany, currently employs around 200 people at its three production sites.

We offer either a complete range of Type 1 to 3 Surge protective devices for low-voltage power systems according to EN 61643-11 or surge protective devices for informatics, measurement & control and telecommunications.
SALTEK® products provide protection against atmospheric and technological overvoltage and ensure safe and trouble-free operation of technological equipment, machinery and electrical appliances in industry, transport, telecommunications, data centres, office buildings as well as households.

The goal of this cooperation is to provide to the end users “European-wide” lightning data of high and nearly homogeneous quality. The EUCLID cooperation is special in the sense that it is the merge of independent national networks, and the individual partners are highly motivated to run their local networks with state-of-the-art lightning detection sensors. All the partners employ dedicated technicians to supervise and maintain the network and to react in short time in case of sensor or communication problems.

As of January 2024 the EUCLID network employs 173 sensors. All sensors, manufactured by Vaisala Inc., are operating in the same frequency range with individually calibrated sensor gains and sensitivities in order to account for any local sensor site conditions.
